2018 Summer Reading Clubs


BC Summer Reading Club: Motion Commotion!

Starting June 1, register at the Help Desk for the annual BC Summer Reading Club, meant for kids from birth through grade 5. Everyone who meets and completes the reading challenge will earn a beautiful SRC medal at the end of the summer.

Kids 3 and under will receive a Read to Me booklet. Kids 4 and up will get a folding Motion Commotion! SRC booklet with space to record seven weeks' worth of reading. The medal awards ceremonies will be at the City Centre Branch on August 18, and the Poirier Branch on September 8.

Why should the kids have all the fun? This year’s theme is Choose Your Own Adventure! Participants can choose their own level of difficulty. Each book read is eligible for an entry in our grand prize draw.

Summer Reading Club for Adult Learners


Coquitlam Public Library is calling all adults at an intermediate ESL reading level or LINC levels 3 and up! Join our Adult Learner Summer Reading Club. Read books for a chance to win prizes!




Between June 11 and August 2:

  • Read books at your ESL level in English and write a short review for each book, saying why you liked it or why you didn’t like it.

  • Each time you give us a book review, you will have a chance to win a prize. If you read a lot of books, you will have a better chance of winning.

  • If you read 5 books in English and write 5 short book reviews by August 2, you will receive a Certificate of Participation!
