Doing Business with the Library

Information for Authors

We welcome submissions from local self-published authors who would like to see their works added to the Library’s collection.

Self-published works must meet the selection criteria as outlined in our Collection Development Policy. Publications are more likely to be added if they have significant local interest and have received media attention, particularly from professional reviewing sources.

To be considered for inclusion in our collection, we require the following information:

(mandatory for nonfiction)
(for children’s books)

Please fill out the above form or send the information to our Collections Librarian kwyatt@coqlibrary.ca. You can also mail to:

Collections Librarian
Coquitlam Public Library
575 Poirier Street
Coquitlam, BC V3J 6A9

If the Library decides to include your work, we may ask you to donate a copy if we are unable to purchase copies through our book vendor. All unsolicited material sent to or left with the Library becomes the property of Coquitlam Public Library and will not be paid for or returned.

Owing to the number of submissions we receive, we are not able to inform you whether your work has been accepted. If we choose to include it, your title will appear in the Library’s catalogue.
