Here's what to know when visiting the Library.   

Library Visit Basics & Hygiene

  • No time limits: visit for as long as you like.
  • Occupancy limits in effect:
    • City Centre branch - 320 max.
    • Poirier branch - 220 max. 
  • Keep physical distance of at least 2 metres (6 feet) from others.
  • Masks are mandatory to visit the library for those aged 5 and up (unless exempt), regardless of vaccination status.
    • People who cannot wear a mask or who cannot put one on or remove a mask without assistance are exempt.
    • Masks are recommended for those aged 2 to 4.
    • Face masks are also required for in-person help sessions.
  • You do not need a BC Vaccine Card or proof of vaccination to visit the Library. However, by order of the Provincial Health Officer, adults and youth aged 12-18 years old must provide proof of vaccination (BC Vaccine Card) to attend in-person programs. Adults must also show valid picture ID.

  • No food allowed in the library.
    • Drinks are allowed.
    • Vending machines temporarily unavailable at City Centre and Poirier branches.
  • Please use hand sanitizer stations and washroom sinks for hand washing.
