Holiday Hellos
We invite everyone to create season's greetings for older adults living in Coquitlam. We will add them to care packages and deliver them in time for the holidays. This project was begun during the Covid lockdown, and has grown every year. Last year, with your help, we brought holiday cheer to over 750 seniors in our community.
We are delighted to support seniors in our community throughout the year through Library services and our partnerships with community organizations that serve seniors. We will be sending your Holiday Hellos to seniors that are registered customers of these services. However, if you know someone that you think would love a Holiday Hello, please contact outreach@coqlibrary.ca, opens a new window.
How to Participate
- Create a holiday greeting—it can be a card, a letter, a drawing—whatever you think would brighten someone's day! Include your first name, but please do not include your last name.
- Drop it off at our City Centre or Poirier branch, or on the Library Link.
- We will deliver it, along with a care package, in time for the holidays.
A Note for Parents
Thank you to parents for encouraging your children to participate in this program. Please be aware that by submitting a contribution, you are giving Coquitlam Public Library consent to share your child's Holiday Hellos with seniors. The Library may also use an image or copy of the Holiday Hello for promotional purposes including social media. We urge your children to avoid including personal information such as full names. If we notice this information is included, we may edit the contribution for your family's privacy.
