Scary Story Contest

Terrify us with a story drawn from the most diabolical depths of your imagination.

  • Contest open to teens. There are two age categories: 11 - 14 and 15 - 18.
  • Contestants must live or go to school in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, or Belcarra.
  • 500 words or less (excluding title). Story must include all 3 keywords:
    • Noisome | Direful | Tenebrous

Stories can be submitted as text within an email, or as Microsoft Word or PDF attachments. Files must be attached to the email! Submissions sent through file-sharing services such as OneDrive or SharePoint will not be considered.

Winning stories will earn 1st, 2nd and 3rd place gift cards as prizes, and be published on the Coquitlam and Port Moody library websites and in the local newspaper. The Scary Story Contest is a partnership between Coquitlam Public Library and Port Moody Public Library.
