An Epic Quest Awaits

Dungeons and Dragons

Calling all gnomes, orcs, and ogres! Your Dungeon Master beckons. Gather your allies and embark on your own fantastical quest using the Library’s Dungeons & Dragons trove.

Begin your journey by picking up one of our guidebooks like the official Dungeon Master’s Guide, Player’s Handbook, or Monster Manual. Don’t leave the tavern until you borrow a set of Dungeons & Dragons dice to use in your games. Each bag includes four coloured sets of 7 dice and can be borrowed for 21 days.

Now that your inventory is stocked, commence your game in one of our meeting rooms. City Centre and Poirier branches have a variety of large and small meeting rooms available for rent. Qualifying community groups such as tabletop gaming groups, may apply for a fee waiver applied towards room rental costs once a month. Some conditions apply.

You're also welcome to drop-in to one of our Board Games programs with your inventory and stake out a free table. Bring your friends along - or find new cronies to join your pack. Just check our events calendar for upcoming dates.

Needs some inspiration to spark your imagination? Stream Adventure Never Ends: A Tabletop Saga on Kanopy, a film streaming platform free for library card holders residing in Coquitlam. This 39-minute documentary follows the worldwide phenomenon of tabletop roleplaying games. In addition, borrow a DVD or Blu-ray copy of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves featuring a charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers who embark on an epic quest to recover a lost relic.

So, whether you identify as a ranger, wizard, or druid, be your own hero and form a team of allies. After all, danger may lurk around every corner. Get to the Library and dive into the world of Dungeons & Dragons, and collaborative roleplaying.
